It has always been one of my favorite verses of scripture, maybe because I feel it is so intrinsically important to our democracy and our country's future.
Frances Perkins would surely have agreed. She'd be horrified by the current proliferation of destructive and hateful flat-out lies being fed to news outlets by the far right on a daily basis. How can our Constitution, rule of law, and history of fair, free elections survive this onslaught?
I urge everyone who loves this country to seek out news from more than one source, and to make sure the ones you are reading and listening to are feeding you verifiable, fact-checked information, with attribution from multiple sources. It isn't that hard to do: cut through the noise and lies and get to the truth...even if it means getting outside your comfort zone or breaking a life-long habit.
Frances would applaud you. Me too.
